The 7 Marketing KPIs Every UAE Business Should Track Monthly

The 7 Marketing KPIs Every UAE Business Owner Should Track Monthly

In a market as competitive as the UAE, marketing decisions made on gut feeling get expensive fast. The problem is rarely a lack of data — it is too many numbers and no clear view of which ones matter. These seven KPIs, reviewed once a month, give business owners a complete picture of whether marketing is actually driving growth.

"What gets measured gets managed — but only if you measure the few things that move revenue." — BAZ Growth Team

1. Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)

CAC is the total marketing and sales spend divided by the number of new customers won in the same period. Tracking it monthly shows early when a channel is becoming too expensive, long before it damages your margins.

2. Customer Lifetime Value (LTV) and the LTV:CAC Ratio

LTV estimates the total gross profit a customer brings over their relationship with your business. Comparing it to CAC tells you whether growth is sustainable.

  • A ratio of around 3:1 is a widely used benchmark for healthy growth.
  • Below 1:1, every new customer costs more than they return.
  • For service businesses, review retention alongside LTV to catch churn early.

3. Marketing Efficiency Ratio (MER)

MER is total revenue divided by total marketing spend across all channels. Unlike platform-reported numbers, it cannot be inflated by overlapping attribution, which makes it the most honest top-line view of marketing ROI.

4. Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) per Channel

ROAS measures revenue generated for every dirham spent on a specific campaign or platform. Use it to compare Google Ads, Meta Ads and other channels — but always sanity-check it against MER.

5. Conversion Rate by Funnel Stage

Measure how many visitors become leads, how many leads become qualified opportunities, and how many opportunities close. The stage with the biggest drop is where your next marketing dirham should go.

6. Lead Response Time

How long does it take your team to reply to a new enquiry? In the UAE, where customers often contact several providers at once, the first meaningful response frequently wins the deal. Track the average and the slowest 10% of responses.

7. Pipeline Velocity

Pipeline velocity combines the number of opportunities, average deal value, win rate and sales-cycle length into one figure: how much revenue your pipeline generates per day. It turns marketing activity into a realistic revenue forecast.

"A monthly review of seven numbers beats a weekly review of seventy." — BAZ Growth Team

Key Takeaways

  • Review CAC monthly to catch rising channel costs before they hurt margins.
  • Keep your LTV:CAC ratio healthy — around 3:1 is a common benchmark.
  • Use MER as the honest overall view and ROAS to compare individual channels.
  • Find the weakest funnel stage and fix lead response time before increasing ad spend.
  • Pipeline velocity turns marketing data into a revenue forecast.
